2007 is no longer with us and now we get to welcome in 2008! Today is the day many people will be making New Year’s Resolutions and hopefully they will at least last through the first day. I guess losing weight is the most popular one, but good luck with whatever resolution you decide to choose.
I’m hoping for a great 2008 year and I’m going to try my best and make it better than 2007. There are some traditional foods we are suppose to eat today. I think collard greens, candy yams, hog jowls and black-eyed peas is suppose to be a few things we have on our plates today. Successful showers
Having a baby is one of the greatest joys you can ever experience. Successfully preparing for the new arrival is a journey in itself. I just the news release that the Seattle Mariners signed Ichiro to contract extension worth $100 million dollars. I am not sure how you arrive at a fair market value for a particular position in baseball, but $100 million dollars. Now don’t get me wrong Ichiro is a great baseball player and this was evident by his performance in the 2007 All-Star game. But they are paying some one a lot of money that only hits the ball 3 out 10 times at the plate. If you or I were only 30% productive at work we may not have a job. I guess I should have stuck with baseball when I was a kid.
Ways to Increase your Alexa ranking
We have been researching many ways in which to increase our traffic, readership, and ultimately our Alexa ranking. We have stumbled on a few good pointers that we are going to try over the next month to see what our results will be. For starters everyone recommends adding the Alexa Widget to your site as seen here:
So as you can see we are starting out at a 920K ranking which is not great but is better than the 3 million we started at over 2 months ago.
A few more pointers to help:
Use Alexa redirects on your website URL. Try this:
1) http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.wi-pod.net . Replace wi-pod.net with the URL for your website. Leave this redirected URL in blog comments as well as forum signatures. This redirect will count a unique IP address once a day so clicking it multiple times won’t help.
2) Get Dugg or stumbled as this will help drive massive amounts of traffic if your blog is picked up
3) Write a blog about how to increase your Alexa ranking as we have done here
4) Encourage others to review your site through Alexa Toolbar
